|About the Book|
It gradually hits you - what a sad, limited, lonely, conflicted person John Fogerty is. In spite of author Craig Werners best efforts at positive spin, John is a pathetic, truly pitiable figure. Estranged from his family and friends and bandmates, and the owner of his music and records Saul Zantz, he closes doors and doesnt know how to re-open them. The final straw came in 1986 when John kept bandmates Stu Cook and Doug Clifford and brother Tom from playing at the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, without warning or explanation. Shame on the institution and shame on John! And shame on the wife Julie who indulges him in this fantasy world where he is the victim of everyone around him!I love hearing where the best music comes from. Its just so sad when it comes from a broken place!
